The Project

Tulip Tip design fun kitchen accessories and wanted an online presence to sell their unique products. Their brand needed to be fully developed and this was an important part of the project. I worked in collaboration with the client to envisage the Customer User Journey and Visual Design of their new eCommerce website.

The UX Process

Brand Guidelines

Having had a workshop with the client, I was able to understand what the Tulip Tip brand was all about. We had discussions around their products and inspirations and they suggested that the Tulip Tip style was based on the Art Nouveau movement from the 1900’s and they wanted to have a retro leaning to their brand and website.

Wireframe User Journey

We used Competitor Analysis to judge what User Journey was right for their brand. This involved creating a series of Wireframes and generating clickable prototypes which were shared with the client for approval.

Visual Design

The User Interface used the principles outlined in the Brand Guidelines to create the retro aesthetics that the client was after. Having Art Directed the product photography, I decided to use these as headers for each category.

Product Details Page

The Product Details Pages allowed customers to share products on Social Media to increase Tulip Tip’s brand exposure. By clicking on the Buy Now button opens up a Shopping Cart overlay.

Checkout Process

The Checkout Process was designed as a four step process allowing the user to complete each segment of the payment process before progressing onto the next stage. This made the pages easier to view on a mobile screen.
